Privacy notice
Last updated
This notice explains what personal information I collect through this website, why I collect it, and what rights you have.
Who I am
This website is run by [company name to follow], trading as Ethos HR, a company registered in England and Wales (company number [company number to follow]). Its registered office is [registered office to follow]. In this notice, “I” and “me” mean Laura Wallace and the company.
The company is the controller of the personal information described here. It’s registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, registration number [ICO registration number to follow].
If you have a question about your information, email me at laura@ethoshr.co.uk.
What I collect, and why
When you send me a message
The contact form asks for your name, your email address, your company if you’d like to give it, and your message. I use them to reply to you and to talk about whether I can help. The form is run by Formspree, which passes your message on to my email.
I rely on my legitimate interest in replying to people who contact me, and, where you’re asking about working together, on taking steps at your request before we agree a contract.
When you book a call
The booking calendar is run by Cal.com. When you book, Cal.com collects your name, your email address and your answers to a few questions about your business, and passes them to me so I can prepare for the call. I rely on the same grounds as for messages.
When you email me
Email to laura@ethoshr.co.uk is handled by [email provider to confirm]. I use your emails to reply to you.
When you visit the website
The website is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it handles your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and to protect the site from attack, and may keep them briefly in its logs.
I count visits with [analytics provider to confirm], which doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t identify you. The cookies page has more.
The HR scorecard runs entirely in your browser. Your answers aren’t sent to me or to anyone else.
Who else sees your information
Only the services named above, which handle it for me and on my instructions: Formspree, Cal.com, [email provider to confirm] and Cloudflare. I don’t sell your information, and I don’t add you to marketing lists.
Some of these services are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your information goes outside the UK, it’s protected by the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long I keep it
If we don’t go on to work together, I delete your messages and booking details 12 months after we were last in touch. If we do work together, I keep them as part of my business records for as long as the law requires.
Information about your employees
When I work for a client, I often handle information about their employees. In that work the client is the controller and I act on their instructions. The terms of business I agree with each client cover that information, not this notice.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
- ask me to correct it, or to delete it
- object to how I use it, or ask me to restrict it
- ask for it in a form you can pass to someone else, where that right applies
Email me at laura@ethoshr.co.uk to use any of these rights. I’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, please tell me first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
Changes to this notice
If I change how I use your information, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
